This unit features 2 beds dedicated to epilepsy monitoring. We provide expert care for conditions such as CVAs, seizures, and other neurological disorders. Additionally, our unit supports patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies, back surgeries, and more, ensuring specialized and compassionate care tailored to each patient's needs.Sign-On Bonus Details (Full Time or Flex Full Time status)*** $20,000 sign-on bonus available for nurses with over one year of experience**Overview: The Clinician is a nurse leader responsible for fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. As a role model of professional nursing practice, the Clinician handles employee evaluations, staff selection and hiring, and daily performance management. They provide education and clinical expertise to staff, including orientation, training, and practice consultation. Additionally, the Clinician may deliver nursing care during shifts when necessary.Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience.Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships through mentoring and positive communication.
  • Coaches colleagues on cultural diversity and addresses workplace issues like horizontal violence and impairment.
  • Demonstrates accountability for safe work hours, time management, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Utilizes performance improvement tools and techniques to enhance care quality and work environment.
  • Shares improvements and best practices across units and the business system.
  • Shows interest in developing others, impacting patients, families, peers, and healthcare team members through mentoring and education.
  • Acts as a preceptor for student nurses, interns, and new hires, and helps develop new preceptors.
  • Seeks opportunities to share expertise within and beyond the clinical unit.
  • Incorporates goals from national organizations and the health system to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Builds healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, and disseminates new knowledge through various formats.
  • Applies nursing knowledge within the framework of Relationship Based Care, addressing clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and effective communication to improve patient care and documentation.
  • Leads clinical nursing practice improvements and supports staff during change and transition.

      • Master's degree preferred.
      • BS/BSN required. If BS degree is not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.
      • Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.
      • Knowledge and skills to provide care and interact appropriately with patients of various ages.
      • Understanding of growth and development principles over the life span.
      • Ability to assess patient data and interpret information to meet age-specific needs.
      • Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
      • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
      • Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities related to patient care.
      • Critical thinking skills to exercise and lead others in the nursing process.
      • Mobility and visual manual dexterity.
      • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
        • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
        • Master's degree preferred. BS/BSN required. If BS degree is not in nursing, a master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.

          • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire.
          • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
          • NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) within 6 months of hire or transfer.

          • National Certification preferred*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
