Southwest Electric Is looking for a Wireman 2nd Shift For our Louisville Location.2nd shift: Monday- Friday 3:30 pm - 12am.10% Shift Differential for 2nd shift.
Summary:A wireman will install electrical components and wiring for our potential transformers, relay cases and control switches and meters using an array of tools and equipment. Successful candidates will have prior experience in electrical wiring and reading of blueprints and schematics correctly. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Read and interpret schematic drawings, point to point diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
• Assemble electrical systems and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or conduit using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
• Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
• Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
• Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan, review work activities, or to resolve production problems.
• Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for operation and record results.
• Identify items that are stock inventory so they can be tracked.
• Must be mechanically / electrically inclined and be able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
  • Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
  • Ability to lift 50 + lbs., climb ladders, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures.Education and/or Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
    • Training in a technical discipline, trade school or electrical theory education preferred
    • Military Experience a plus
