Perform repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance on all production systems to ensure optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.


Conduct basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs-including power transmission, drives, and general machinery.


Assist with the installation of new machines using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.


Maintain utility systems, ensuring continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air needed for plant operations.


Safely install, start up, and shut down equipment per company protocols and OSHA guidelines.


Troubleshoot and dismantle equipment to repair or replace defective parts; adjust and fine-tune functional components.


Utilize shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, and cutting tools.


Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all OSHA safety regulations.


Participate in preventive maintenance programs and contribute to parts inventory and request processes.



Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

1-2 year certificate from a technical school or college.


5-7+ years of related experience in packaging or mechanical maintenance within the food processing industry.




Skills:

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills (Investigate, Evaluate, Repair, Prevent).


Experience in industrial welding, plumbing, and basic electrical work.


Ability to climb, work in tight spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.


Experience with maintenance programs and work orders.


Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
